As line manager of the NRS recruitment team, the NRS Portfolio Performance Manager provides oversight of all Lothian eligibly funded studies to support them performing to time and target. The NRS Portfolio Performance Manager also perform this on a national level for the following research areas: 

Critical care and Anaesthesia, Gastroenterology, Respiratory and Surgery.

The National Health Service research Scotland  https://www.nhsresearchscotland.org.uk/  (NRS) Champion Support Manager’s main function is to provide managerial support at a national level for the musculoskeletal disease NRS Research Champions in Scotland - one for rheumatic and bone research and one for orthopaedic research. This is to champion research activity within these particular specialties in the health boards and support eligible studies to perform to time and target.

This national role works in tandem with the NRS Nodal portfolio  Performance Managers  to ensure oversight and support of all research taking place within NRS.
