Informed Consent in Clinical Research – Adults (Scotland)

The course includes discussions about vulnerable groups who may require additional safeguards and also covers consent issues relating to the use of human tissue and data.

By the end of this course, leaners should:

• Have an understanding of the regulations and laws relating to consent in clinical research
• Recognise the consent issues of using data and human tissue
• Be aware of the special provisions made for adults who cannot give consent
• Have an understand of the practical aspects for informed consent 

This course is relevant for anyone involved in the informed consent process in clinical research. Please note, the course focuses on Scottish legislation.
